June 28, 2014

As summer comes around and the "Dog Days of Summer" are quickly

approaching, we often sit back and wonder where these terms come from. " The

Dog Days of Summer" refers to the extremely hot times during July and August

in the Northern Hemisphere. According to The Old Farmers Almanac it lists the

traditional dog days as being 40 days beginning July 3 and ending August 11th.

To me " The Dog Days of Summer" means baseball games and ice cream,

burgers on the grill, and picnics in Grammy's yard. Freshly squeezed lemonade

and apple pies coming out of the oven. What comes to your mind when you

think of summer?  Does it make you reminisce about your childhood or bring

back memories of your summer fling in between 8th and 9th grade?  So as we

sit in our rocking chairs on our front porches and drink the ever so sweet tea,

think to yourself how you are going to make this summer special. What kind

of memories are you going to make this summer? Either way Make the Most of

It. You live everyday, you die once!!!!!
